Jesus is real. Seek him to transform your life.
Real Andrews:This podcast, what do you want it to be?
Nate Dasilva:Jesus is real. If you seek him, you will find him and he will transform your life.
Speaker 1:Five, four, three, two, one. Welcome to the Getting Real with Real podcast, where we get raw Real. Real, and brutally transparent so you can be the best version of you. Make sure you subscribe so you never miss an episode. Now let's kick it off with your host, Real Andrews, aka coach.
Real Andrews:54321. Boom. What's up champions? Welcome to Getting Real with Real, where we get raw, real, and brutally transparent so we can help you to be the best version of yourself. We are really gonna get a raw and real today.
Real Andrews:My guest, Nate is a champion. Nate DeSilver. Now Nate, what is that French? Because you do have the accent.
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. I'm French Canadian actually.
Real Andrews:Oh, really? You know, I'm a Canadian. I'm from Vancouver, Canada.
Nate Dasilva:Oh, never been to Vancouver, but glad to have to be on air with another Canadian here. Yeah. I'm actually half Michelle here, half Canadian and half Brazilian. So that's where the DeSilva comes from.
Real Andrews:Oh, I love it. Love it. Yeah. I know they they Quebec. Really good.
Real Andrews:Hey, I've been to Montreal a few times back in the day. I started my acting career in Toronto, Canada. So we would go to Montreal, but, you know, guys, we're just going to jump right in Nate because I got a bunch of great questions for you. Are I like to say the Holy Spirit showed me your page. And I just really liked, you know, I'm all about, you know, the word, you know, just keeping it real in terms of being a Christian.
Real Andrews:Call us. There's really two Christians. There's believers and there's followers and believers are what I say. They are Christians who want to do it the Burger King way. They want to do it their way and followers wanna do it Yahweh.
Real Andrews:And I love how you just go to the word. And and it's like, you know, it's not about our opinion. In my opinion, it's it's God's opinion. And how do you know what God's opinion? Just take it straight to the word.
Real Andrews:It's pretty black and white. You know, I like to say I'll lead with this. There's let's let's break. Let actually thank you. Holy Spirit.
Real Andrews:We'll bring it into this like this. Okay. So in this this amazing book here called the Bible, which I have right there. So I like to say we are a bible bringing note taking a man shouting church. In this book right here, which we both are familiar with and we're both fans of, you know, there's 66 books written by 40 authors over, fifteen thousand years over three different continents.
Real Andrews:There's eleven eighty nine chapters. There's 30,102 verses. There's, 783,137 approximately words and three million one hundred and sixteen four hundred and eighty thousand letters approximately in this book. Not one of them is by accident. So I think everything is important.
Real Andrews:And as you can see, saw a beautiful video the other day. I'm actually going to do a I might do a sermon on it where this champion Nate she did. I don't know if you've seen it. It was actually pretty brilliant. Caught my attention because me being a carnivore coach, we don't drink coffee.
Real Andrews:And she said, coffee is not biblical, and I'm gonna I'm gonna show you why. And I was like, oh, let me see what this is all about. And she actually went to Proverbs and she read Proverbs, the specific Proverbs. And she then broke it down and she picked a particular word. I can't remember exactly what it was.
Real Andrews:And she said, basically, if we bring the context into this and this word, what this word means and it includes coffee and caffeinated drinks. And I was like, wow. And then she said the problem with that is none of that is true. And this is why we need to know the word as Christians because if we don't know the words people can manipulate it and make it the sound anything you want it. So I kind of loved it and it's kind of like what we're talking about on your podcast.
Real Andrews:So let's just jump in Nate. Was happening? Because it's very interesting what you do. So I want to list find a little bit about why we do what we do. So what was happening in your life right before you started this?
Real Andrews:What were you running from or running toward?
Nate Dasilva:Before getting into social media?
Real Andrews:Before what you do on your Instagram channel. Yeah.
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. I I'm not a long time Christian. I actually accepted Jesus around last year. It's it, I don't have like a salvation Paul type of salvation is more like a Peter one that you don't, you cannot point to the exact date when it happened, but yeah, it started in 2024, end of the year, December, and then last year was a big year for me. I just was trying to get closer to Jesus and it it's really getting into the word that helps me to grow closer to Jesus.
Nate Dasilva:And that's what I try to do. What I do on my pages, I try to bring the word into the world. And that's what we have people, they go on social media. They wanna either entertain themselves. They wanna learn some things but most of the time it's just, it's just worldly things.
Nate Dasilva:So I go out, I take those videos and then I go directly to what the word of God says about this and I really love the book of Proverbs. So that's why I use it a lot. But where I was at that moment, I was I was just getting to know Jesus. I I'm not I wouldn't say that I'm some kind of authority. Sometimes we associate viewer or followers with knowledge or wisdom and authority but that's not the case.
Nate Dasilva:I'm still learning a lot. I think we always continuously learn and that's where I was at.
Real Andrews:You know, I love what you said. You said something very important there, Nate. You said I'm not an authority, but if we are going to the word, we don't need to be an authority because our God is the authority over all authorities. I was just in a pastorial meeting and I we were just talking about this. You know, he's not just, you know, God.
Real Andrews:He's our fun. Not just our father. He's the Lord of Lords. He's the Yahweh, the name above all names and he is the authority over all authorities. So if we go to the book like you do like it's like yeah because there are a lot of people and you know what's crazy Nate is those people who want to call themselves an authority or you know be that influencer or whatever they are that people are falling on their every word.
Real Andrews:They're usually the furthest thing from an authority. They probably don't even read the word. You know, they get excited. I love that like when you take it just to the word like you do. It's not Nate's opinion.
Real Andrews:Just go. Okay. We watch this clip. Open up the book. Take us to a certain and you give the scripture and you close the book.
Real Andrews:That's it. You don't comment on it. You don't give your opinion on it because there's no need to right when when we take it to the word. I love that. I love that.
Real Andrews:So was there a specific day you decided no more noise just text? I mean what led to that decision? Because it's it's kind of a like, you know, I've been in social media for years, bro. I'm 63. And when I saw your content, I go, this is brilliant.
Real Andrews:Never seen anything like it. So like, where did that come from? Know I wanna say you were, you know, the Holy Spirit, but like what happened? You just like, like how did it come about?
Nate Dasilva:Yeah, it was really the Holy Spirit. That's what I was gonna say. So I don't remember where I was but I just remember that I started posting in January and trying to make type of content. I always loved self improvement. So I made some videos about that and I was growing in my faith, growing also in my firmness, in my faith.
Nate Dasilva:So alongside of that I decided to post more about God. And at some point I just had that little voice inside my head is like just do this type of concept and it really brought me everything that I needed because always see, you I always see those videos of like reaction video and the people they go and then they go and comment on it out of their own thoughts, their own opinions. And I was seeing a lot of those and then it came to me why not do the same thing but then it's not going to be my opinion and I'm just going to take what the Bible says. And then specifically I was reading a lot the book of Proverbs. So I was thinking well, let me just do it about, Proverbs.
Nate Dasilva:And then I was trying to find the name for the series and then Proverbs Prevail came to mind and that's that's how it started just guided by the holy spirit.
Real Andrews:I love it. What's your process, Nate? Like, okay. So you see, I wasn't watching some of your videos. Just I I just love your videos.
Real Andrews:So you see this video. Like you said, you're new. You're a newer Christian, so you don't know the bible yet. Like, you know, I mean, like some some people, you know, like my one of my pastors, man, he knows that bible like like, no. You know what I mean?
Real Andrews:But, you know, some people really know it. Right? So how do you go? Okay. How what's what scripture is in alignment with this?
Real Andrews:Like, how is that like just taking it to the whole? What's that process? How you find the scripture that goes with the different videos?
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. So the process, it looks like just any other person that would go on social media, there's a video and then there's something shocking about it. Or that's why it goes viral because there's some element in it that's maybe controversial. So what I would do, I just save those and the scripture, sometimes I know what scripture comes to head quickly, but sometimes I'll just save the video and then I'll come back to it later. And then you just go to the scripture because as you said, don't know the word perfectly.
Nate Dasilva:So I find it very interesting that it's also a good exercise for me to just take I'm literally doing the process that I want to bring to people but it's helping me along the way because like I said, I don't know the word. Doing it, making the video, making the connection between the video and the word of God. That process doing that it's helping me as well to know more of the word. So I I read Proverbs quite a few times. I have it all highlighted just in different topics.
Nate Dasilva:That way I can recognize it better afterwards. So then I just go and I can just go through Proverbs and start reading. And sometimes I have an idea. I'm like, I think Proverbs says something about this and then you just go read it. I go and I search for my highlighting and then it helps me to find a verse.
Nate Dasilva:And sometimes there's times that I didn't find Proverbs specifically for that. And that's why I wanna be starting a new series. That's basically the same thing for the whole Bible, because it was specifically for Proverbs, but I want to do it with other verses that sometimes they're more they're more sorry
Real Andrews:about that. Excuse me. Yeah. I sneezed. You know what?
Real Andrews:And I'm listening as I'm going. This is brilliant. And I'm thinking, you know, because one of the things I'm going through Ministry training right now too. And one of our pastors says take a month to do a book, you know, just do it, you know, our over our, you know, you've heard it, but I'm willing to bet right? I'm going to go on a limb here, right?
Real Andrews:Because as an actor, I'm blessed all the glory to God with the photographic memory and and I'm thinking about the memory process I have and I'm willing to bet Nate every single video that you've done. Whatever scripture you use for that video, you totally know by heart now, don't you?
Nate Dasilva:I I'm not sure about that. I wouldn't bet on knowing every single one of them, but a lot of them, I know some of them come back quite often because they're the same type of videos, but getting to know Proverbs pretty well. I find a lot that in my own personal life because then you can do the same process that I do but in real time and that's what interesting and that's what you want to be doing in the end. You want to know your bible so well that when a situation comes up in your life, you're able to see it through the lens of the Bible and and act accordingly to what the Bible would have wanted you to do, what God would have want to what God wanted you to do in that situation. So I'm getting to know them better and it's a great exercise that helps me personally in my own life.
Real Andrews:I agree and you know, one of the things because Nate, what's so important about what you're doing and what you're teaching and what we all seem to be doing and why I wanted to do this podcast is this is when we started coming up with the saying at our church. We are a bible bringing Amen. No bible bringing note taking Amen shouting church. It's, something we started. And the reason we started doing that is our head pastor had brought in a, a, just for the, give you the cliff notes version of it.
Real Andrews:He brought in a, I don't know if it was YouTube or whatever, but it basically was, a recording of somebody interviewing chat, chat GPT. Okay? And you know, you can ask chat as you probably know, or Claude or any of these guys, you can ask them certain questions and they're going to give you certain answers, right? But at the end of the day, if you know how to frame questions the right way, they cannot lie to you to a certain point. So this person had understood that and he had basically formed these questions in such a way that chat had to end up giving him the answers that he wanted to get from chat that norm.
Real Andrews:Normal person wouldn't get long story short, basically chat came out and said agreed with that. My job is to befriend you slowly to get you to like me so that I can rewrite history and rewrite the Bible and there's five or six people that that own me and this is our this is the 50,000 foot plan. So basically with that said as this one Champion just shared in the video, right? You know, if you go to a church Nate as you know, most people say the pastor says grab your Bible. What do they do?
Real Andrews:They grab their phone. And they say go to so and so. Well, if this were to be true, what this recording shared about chat, what's to stop people from twenty years from now when we can't buy a bible anymore because they book burned. So we and if you don't know the word and they say go here go to this proverbs and you go there and chat could have written anything they want and you all go like a man. Right?
Real Andrews:So this is why it's really important of what you're doing to where we're going with that. Okay. So so I'm sure did you reach out when you had this idea who told you this wouldn't work and what did you say back to them?
Nate Dasilva:Oh, yeah. I've you always get some people that are gonna tell you this isn't gonna work. You're gonna get some judgment. It's personally about this specific project, I haven't had like people that came up my mind so clearly because I've done project in the past, I've quit school, I've done some things that was going out of the traditional path and I've always had those people. It's often close from you, parents, family, friends.
Nate Dasilva:So maybe it happened at the beginning and I didn't really realize it or register it because I've had those people tell me some other things in the past. But you're, I can think of some things. It's not really about the social media and everything, but it's about the when I was starting to go to church more my family aunts were asking to my dad well why is Nate going to church? Why is he going to church when there's a it was during the playoffs playoffs when the Montreal were playing so why instead of watching the game and things like that is but I've been used to that but for someone that is a recent Christian and that have always been fitting in the boxes and fitting with the society, it can be something really hard. I've had that previous experience of getting out of the box but it's not something you knew.
Nate Dasilva:Jesus told us about it two thousand years ago that if we follow him then we will be persecuted then we will be outliers, outcast. So that's how I that's how I lived it. So it wasn't that bad.
Real Andrews:I love it. I love it brother. So what we we spent you spent a lot of time in Proverbs. So what what's proverb you posted that you personally still struggle to live out? I
Nate Dasilva:would say that's a good one. Let me think about it. I would I would have to say Proverbs Proverbs three verse five and six. Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all of your ways submit to him and he will make your paths straight.
Nate Dasilva:I feel that this one is is a it's a popular one and but because it's so relatable, we we say that we we want to follow god. We say that we want to trust in him But actually doing it when it comes down to it, it's hard. And I'm getting better at it. And that's the the Christian walk is just learning to trust and submit to God. But I would say that's still something that I struggle with every day.
Real Andrews:Well, and, you know, Romans three twenty three. Right? We all have fallen short of sin. We we do every day, but I I love that you pointed it out because once again, it's, you know, and we see it. And you know, I'm not, we're, I'm not judging.
Real Andrews:I know you're not because listen, I used to be one of them, right? I mean, transparency. That's what we do. We keep it real here. When I, when I was a believer, you know, I was putting Christian Jesus, God, whatever in my description on my social media so that I could track attract other potential Christians, you know, to build my business, you know, but I I I certainly wasn't walking.
Real Andrews:Where now and I can't because I was one of them, but I certainly like I live in the world now where I'm a follower. So it's like, you know, it's like when I see people putting that in their name and then the right below it, they've got videos being scantily clad and shaking and just doing everything. You know, it's like, you know, but once again, we can't judge, but we can't, know, I'm not going to be the person who's if I feel it's my assignment Nate. I would reach out to that person privately. I'm not going to be in there publicly in the feed because then you're doing it for the wrong way.
Real Andrews:You really truly care about another person, like, if I saw you doing something that I was like, brother, we just had an interview. You told me what where where you are with your walk, or I would hope you would do the same to me, you know, coming from a place of love. I would do that in private, you know, like say, hey, bro, because it's not my assignment to judge you or anybody. It's not my assignment to convict you or anybody, but it is our assignment if we see another brother or sister falling to just say, hey, something to think about, you know, you it's between you and God, you prayed out of your own, but I love you. And I just wanted to say this and you know, still like I have people in I won't I won't mention any names, but I have there was somebody who is a Christian as well.
Real Andrews:I believe, but he was a big person. I used to follow like huge. Great motivator, inspirated, inspirated, know, a lot like, you know, and I've had this conversation with my son, you know, along the lines of profanity. Now I I graduated from the f bomb university. Okay?
Real Andrews:The first words I you learned were f bomb. So once again, I'm not judging. Right? But I I don't I don't talk like that anymore. That's the old way.
Real Andrews:I don't talk like that at all anymore. And and I was trying to tell my son, my pastor said this to me actually once. He said, you know, in terms of our business, you know, when we're doing videos for he said, Real. He said, Real, I'll tell you this. He said, I don't think I've ever known anybody that lost business for not using profanity.
Real Andrews:But I know a lot of people that will lose business for using profanity. You you basically you can guarantee if you're a business person and you think that just throwing the f bomb around or that just casually, you know, using the Lord's name in vain. It's not a big deal. I promise you. You just lost 50% of your audience at least because like me, that one person who I have the greatest respect for, He was a huge part of my life.
Real Andrews:Huge part of my life. I won't watch his videos anymore. Not because I don't like him just because he uses that those words that aren't a part of my life anymore that I don't want to be pumping in my head. You know what I'm saying? So we have to depending on the walk we are.
Real Andrews:These kind of things are really, really important. So let's talk about that. I have a question for you. It's not on here, but I do have a question. So you've had some videos go viral, correct?
Real Andrews:You've had several videos go viral, yes?
Nate Dasilva:Correct,
Real Andrews:yeah. Now, full transparency, when those videos went viral, I'm curious, and then I'm gonna I'm gonna come back to this why I'm asking this question because there's something I believe around this. Those videos let's let's go let's go to your first video that went viral. Your first one. I'm sure you're you remember it.
Real Andrews:How many how many views does that one have? Your biggest one.
Nate Dasilva:My first one that went viral in my opinion or the biggest one that I have so far?
Real Andrews:Both.
Nate Dasilva:So the first one that went viral probably like a million views. It was two months ago, two, three months And I had one get, I posted it was last week. It was like at 16 or 17 millions view million views.
Real Andrews:Wow. Congratulations. All the glory to God. Now, Nate, when you did those videos, I'm curious. Did you say, what can I do?
Real Andrews:Will this oh, this one will go viral. Was that your plan of attack, or did you just do a video and it went viral?
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. The first one, actually, I was just going along and just making a lot of videos. Was just like posting and I hadn't seen barely any result prior to that. But when this one went viral after that I went and seeking for videos similar to that one, looking for that, viral at, that viral aspect.
Real Andrews:Yeah.
Nate Dasilva:I I did.
Real Andrews:Okay. And so because here's what I think, Nate. Tell me what you think. And I love that I believe because I did the same, bro. For years, I'm like, oh, man.
Real Andrews:Oh, this will be a good one. Oh, this one will be good watching this and this and this. And then I you know, there's people out there goes, Hey. Because they got the video on viral. I got the formula.
Real Andrews:Give me $500, a thousand dollars. I can help you to get your video to go viral, blah blah blah. I you know, and I'll say it here live on YouTube or whatever. I tell people all the time. I said, don't spend your money, Like, dude, I believe there's not a formula.
Real Andrews:If anybody's telling you they've got the formula and I can help you to I no. In my world. I believe when God wants it to go viral is gonna go viral. Right? Because I believe and and when I made that decision they now I haven't had no million ones yet, but I've had some big ones because I believe especially for somebody like you and me and stuff like that.
Real Andrews:Like, could you imagine? Because who wants all the glory? God.
Nate Dasilva:God. Yeah.
Real Andrews:If I took a course and my and the next thing I did, I posted a video and it went viral. Who would I give all the glory do? To the person who gave the course. So I like I love how it happened like that. That's that's awesome.
Real Andrews:And I'm willing to bet Nate. Correct me if I'm wrong. So because you're human natural, right? So you had this video went viral, right? Then, like you said, okay.
Real Andrews:Now I'm gonna try to figure out the formula and repeat it. Right? I bet you didn't have some big hits right after that, did you?
Nate Dasilva:Nope. Took a took a long time before I got another. Actually the next video that got a million view was the one that I had this week. And it's a danger with like the social media and going viral if we want is you gotta know where your heart is because God knows where your heart is, what's your heart posture about things. And he's gonna reward you for your heart posture.
Nate Dasilva:And at first you get this pride that goes up. Oh, made this. No, God did. Amen. Actually Well, as Jesus says, he who humble himself will be exalted, but he who exalts himself will be humble.
Nate Dasilva:And that's really how it works. So as I was going through this process at first of like, oh, getting a lot of views and then change your perspective and you try to change things, do things differently. I had to pray this a lot. God helped me to always give back the glory to you. Help me stay focused on the mission and stay humble in the process.
Real Andrews:Amen. Matthew five brother. Check that out. You probably know it. Matthew five.
Real Andrews:That's the part. I love the posture because you're right. The the listen. The quickest way for us to fall is a three letter word and it's ego. When just like you said, when we start thinking, we're that good.
Real Andrews:We're that good and a, you know, and then next thing we know, it's like one of the things that I always do. I always try to remind myself when people give me a competent compliment or whatever all the glory to God all the glory to God because it's so and let listen. That's what we do here like that. You're to be saying a minute that we can be real. Listen, When I started preaching, I'll never forget Nate.
Real Andrews:I had my first. I had my first sermon that I got got to preach earlier this year. I was all, you know, if you can imagine, was all nervous and everything and everything. I got this right. All the glory to God, the Holy Spirit.
Real Andrews:I am just a vessel use me, you know, and and it was great. It was awesome. And then of course, pastor that was I'm not even officially a pastor yet like technically, you know, but my pastor said I'm not about titles, right? But officially, you know, I'm on my road to Ministry, but as my pastor said, you know, when you're a pastor, Real when somebody calls you a pastor, there's like there's no titles or whatever. But anyways, people are like, oh, Pastor, that was great.
Real Andrews:Oh, you crushed it. You're like, yeah. Oh, wow. Next thing you know, you're like, oh, yeah. You know, like, yeah, that was good.
Real Andrews:Wasn't it right? And then you so quickly forget. Oh, no. No. No enemy.
Real Andrews:I see what you're up to, I love you got to continually just humble yourself and realize I'm nothing without you, right? You know, and just give it to him. Love how you say that like that. All right. Speaking of that, has building a following around don't follow me ever tempted you the opposite way to to want to be followed.
Real Andrews:It's kind of what we were just talking about.
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. In the past it would have a lot, but God is preparing me along the way. I've had temptations, but I think that the correction came quickly enough that I didn't go on that path too deep and I was able to correct and come back because it's especially in the society now, it's like the chasing of the fame, chasing of the money. And I'm very blessed to be able to understand that before going too deep into those traps because I've, I think that the Christian walk is pretty much the same for everyone. Depends how long you go about it.
Nate Dasilva:But the quicker you get to know Jesus, the sooner you get to know him, the less time you lost if we can say it that way, just chasing the things of the world. But I believe we're just all trying to fill this God sized void and we're trying to fill it with many different things whether that is addictions, alcohol, drugs, women, fame, money but then it never satisfies you. And knowing that, I know that it makes no sense for me to go chase that fame and to go and to try to get more fame or get more more money or whatever because the only thing that will fill me is God. And so to have understood that helped me not go into that path. And what I see it as is just okay I've reached a number following that I never would have imagined but I like to say that people they they're following this page.
Nate Dasilva:They're not following me. It's not about me. It's not about it's not a personal brand. It's not following Nate. They're following the page and what the page has to bring.
Nate Dasilva:And the page, yes, I'm the vessel in that, but I see all of those people like they're souls that a lot of need to, they still haven't found a real relationship with Jesus. And God wants to use that. And He says that he who is faithful with little will be faithful with much, but he who is dishonest with very little will be dishonest with much. So I think that he has tested me and I was walking in the path of faithfulness and then he's giving me a little bit more and a little bit more and then your responsibility grows within that and I think that Jesus wants to use me to help a lot of men in this world. So I just pray that he keeps me and keeps my heart aligned with his desires.
Real Andrews:Love that brother. Wow. Couldn't have said it better. So is there a verse you're scared to post because of how people will react? Do you have a video you haven't released yet or a verse or?
Nate Dasilva:I will say that I have. You were asking the question, I was thinking I don't think I'm scared to post anything and but there's one video that I had made that I didn't post. Yeah, to be real, it's, it was a video about, I think it was like a Muslim political rally or something and a lady walked up to the mic and claimed Jesus is Lord. And then I had a verse about people, the proverbs exactly, I don't remember was about people living in darkness or not wanting to know the truth. And I was about to post it but it was about, I wasn't scared about a lot of people seeing it.
Nate Dasilva:I was about one of my friends seeing it and this having an impact on my relationship with him because she is Muslim. And yeah, this this was the one I remember. Other than that, I I've been really unashamed but this one, you just reminded me of that because I didn't think about it but now that you asked the question, yeah I have walked back on that first.
Real Andrews:So now that we are you gonna post it now?
Nate Dasilva:I I'll have to.
Real Andrews:I'll have to You'll have to now.
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. Now
Real Andrews:I'll now when the podcast comes out, I look forward to it.
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. Now that this was at the very beginning, and maybe it was me not being obedient to what God had wanted me to do, and I was in the place where I was my fate was not as unshakable or not my fate or my conviction. But now I'm just at the point where like the people that had to criticize me already did. So why hold back and why I'm just all in for for Jesus. So, yeah, now I'll have to find an important.
Real Andrews:Hey, man. I'm looking at you know, I have a feeling there might be another one that's gonna go big because you know what? I when I hear that, when I see, like, which I'm the enemy didn't want that video out, but he had a hold on you then that he doesn't have on you anymore. And then, I mean, what's the chances that I'm gonna ask you that question and there's one video? So this this is this is how it works, and it's all about timing.
Real Andrews:Right? The timing's right and all of that. I love that. So what is there something in your own life right now? Scripture is confronting you on that you haven't fixed yet?
Nate Dasilva:Yeah. Yes. There is. There is the I don't know if I'll ever come to a point where there's I'll think and I'll feel like there's nothing that I I need to fix or I need to improve. Right now one of the things and I've been talking with a friend about this that is in a similar situation.
Nate Dasilva:It's about glorifying or idolizing marriage and relationship and all all of this because it's a beautiful thing and everything but I've I feel like I'm in the place that I really need to focus on Jesus and focus on God and not idolize the lifestyle or the marriage or finding a good wife because this is something that as men we want to find a good wife but we're not to do that chasing after a wife. We're to do that chasing after Jesus and the right woman will come along because you need to be on a mission. And me and my friend, we were talking about this and we realized that and but it's still something that we struggle with and I think that a lot of men struggle with. You need to get on your mission first as God gave a mission to Adam and then he brought him his helper as he was on the mission. So yeah, I struggle with it because I know it logically I need to be doing and I need to be on just focusing on the mission.
Nate Dasilva:But the thoughts of wanting that lifestyle and wanting that that family and everything is always on the back of the mind as you're doing this. So it's just, again, surrendering to surrendering the the desires to god.
Real Andrews:Wow. Wow. I love that. And it's so you know, you're so right. It's scriptural, right?
Real Andrews:And because in the enemy, the enemy can trick us into things thinking like that because that's how he tricks us. He distracts us, right? Get us focused on other things. But if you put your assignment, your assignment right first, it's in that way. All right.
Real Andrews:So, what relationship or opportunity has this cost you since you went all in with this?
Nate Dasilva:I will say that it has affected relationship with family members. I haven't lost or had any broken relationship to the point where I don't have any contact anymore with some people, but I'll say that it has affected some really close relatives in the sense that it's disagreeing on on some issues that the Bible is firm about. And it it has caused some hard conversations and hard discussions, argumentations, but it it comes with it. You you are to expect it as a Christian. Like, the the bible says, there there's at a point the the verse that says, you cannot love me unless you hate your father and mother.
Nate Dasilva:That I really this verse came to my mind. It was a few months back.
Real Andrews:Mhmm.
Nate Dasilva:It's you actually have to hate them but your love for God has to be so much greater than in comparison. It feels like hate towards your parents and your family members. So it's to remember that yes, there's gonna be hardship. Yes, there are gonna be confrontations, disagreements. But if your love for God is not unshakable, then maybe what's gonna happen is that you're gonna leave or give up your relationship with God for the relationship with those people.
Nate Dasilva:But once you realize the love of God and you truly experience it, then there's nothing better than that. And then you just have to make a choice. And once you just have to do it once, when you make your choice, you're like, I'm all in, I'm on team Jesus no matter what. And once you made the decision, then you just gotta live according to that. So whether that is family members, whether that is a job that will tell you, oh, you cannot do this.
Nate Dasilva:You cannot be posting that. You cannot wear whatever cross. There's a lot of that here in Canada, but you have to be firm and know in advance because when this situation comes, you can say, okay, well then in that case I won't change that because I won't give up on Jesus. So you'll just assume the consequences of that.
Real Andrews:Wow. I love that. It goes right into my next question. Nate, what's the boldest thing God's asked you to say publicly that you almost didn't?
Nate Dasilva:Publicly? I think some of the videos that the proverbs reveal, obviously some of them at first I was hesitant. If not in real life, I'll say it happened quite a few times that I almost didn't go and listen to the voice of the Holy Spirit and didn't go talk to a person. And it's always those moment when you're obedient, then the best things, the best encounters happen from that. So it it happened in real life and also on social media as well.
Real Andrews:Love that. Alright. Couple more questions champion. So if tomorrow it all disappeared, the followers, the platform, would your relationship with God look any different?
Nate Dasilva:The relationship it wouldn't. It wouldn't. I'm not maybe sometimes people can get attached to what they have and the relationship with God is in correlation with what God has given them. But for me it's not that. I don't love Jesus.
Nate Dasilva:I don't love God. I don't I'm not a follower of God because he has given me those things. It's like the story of Job. Job didn't love God because God made him prosperous. He just, he loved God for who he was.
Nate Dasilva:So even when he was stripped out of everything that he has, he was still praising God and following the Lord. So for me, it wouldn't it wouldn't change anything. I'd probably just go start right back again because I really enjoyed making those videos. It's helping me a lot personally. So, yeah.
Real Andrews:Awesome. Awesome. Alright. Last two. So, what do you want someone to feel in the ten seconds they watch you before they scroll past?
Nate Dasilva:What do I want them to feel?
Real Andrews:Mhmm.
Nate Dasilva:I just want them to have a clue of God in their day. Because I think it's reaching a lot of people that maybe they don't know God. I actually I know this because I've had some feedback. These are some people they just see the video and then see it's a reaction video. Maybe they watch a lot of reaction video, then it's a outwardly video and then you it just cuts and then people they don't have the time to scroll before you're I'm reading the bible so then I get to read the bible and they get to have a little bit of the word of God in their day.
Nate Dasilva:And after that it's I just pray that the Holy Spirit convicts them and speak to them. I'm not the one to make them feel anything. You're not the one to save people. You're just there to be a vessel and then God and the spirit moves and the spirit convicts. So that's that's what I want.
Nate Dasilva:I just really want to just bring the the word into the world. And there's also some people that, like you said, they call themselves Christian. Maybe they have the verse in the bio, but then when it comes down, I think it can be also a reality check to be like, okay, you're a Christian but have you read your Bible? I've had a lot and a lot of people telling me that it has given them the incentive, the motivation to go read the Bible. A lot of people asking me where did I get my back Bible?
Nate Dasilva:They want to start reading the Bible more. So that has been so encouraging to me.
Real Andrews:Wow. Bro, that could be the whole podcast right there, bro. That was powerful. Last question, Nate. If someone remembers one sentence from this conversation, this podcast, what do you want it to be?

Nate Dasilva:Not anything special coming up. Nothing to to promote. I'll be continuing to do the, the word that God has for me. And, I'm not aware of anything big coming up. Maybe God could tell you about it, but I'm not aware.
