Kids Can Inspire: Raising Bold Faith in a World That Wants You Safe

Real Andrews:

My dad always used to say to me, does he say, he would say, you say, how do we do things on? And I'd say with excellence, it's a game me and my dad used to play excellence. And he say, why do we do that? And I'd say, because it has our signature on it. And he goes, why why is that important?

Real Andrews:

And he goes, and then I would say, well, is how do you wanna be remembered? What do you want on your tombstone? What do you want people to say about you when you're gone? What kind of legacy do you wanna leave? More importantly, what kind of conversations do you wanna have with God when it's all said and done?

Real Andrews:

And when I look at this family here on screens, man, I talk about you talk about legacy. It just reminds me as a kid, I lived with a foster family for four years of my life, and so I had three brothers.

Real Andrews:

Five, four, three, two, one. Welcome to the Getting Real with Real podcast, where we get raw, real, and brutally transparent so you can be the best version of you. Make sure you subscribe so you never miss an episode. Now let's kick it off with your host, Real Andrews, aka coach.

Real Andrews:

54221. Boom. Welcome to Getting Real with Real and where we get raw, real, and brutally transparent so we can help to be the best version of you. I am so excited today. Our guest, you may have seen them out there on social media.

Real Andrews:

The Holy Spirit showed me them to me, and I got so excited. Restarted them, and they said, yes. I'm really excited. So kids can inspire. You're gonna get to meet the whole family.

Real Andrews:

But I wanna say, you know, I love that you sent me what you sent me, Heather, because one of the things that I've been saying for years and champions is Jesus didn't die so we could be safe. He died so we could be dangerous. And how are you gonna be bold today? How are you gonna step up and show up? You know?

Real Andrews:

And then when I got, you know, the videos that you sent me, and I'm so grateful that you did, and I watched them. I watched the process of how you started and how you took time off. And then you came back because you felt God told you you needed to be bolder. So that's really gonna be the theme for today. You know, we're gonna talk a lot about that.

Real Andrews:

So let's just jump right in. And why don't you guys say hi, each of you, to introduce yourself so because it is a big family, so everybody introduce yourself and say hi.

Heather:

Absolutely. I'm Heather. I am mom.

Porter:

I am Porter. I am the middle child.

Liam:

Yep. I'm Liam, literally the best child.

Porter:

Nuh-uh. And I'm Finn, the favorite child that's the youngest.

Real Andrews:

I love it.

Justin:

I like oh, go ahead, buddy.

Porter:

And I'm Porter, the god's child.

Liam:

Oh, Oh, yeah. For all that. Funny.

Justin:

I'm Justin. I'm dad.

Real Andrews:

Glad to be here. Awesome. Awesome. Well, let's just I got a couple questions for you as a family. Okay?

Real Andrews:

So when since the restart, what's the one thing that the family has done together that you would have never done before when you guys decided to be bolder and and restart this?

Heather:

I think making every video really bold before and we can kinda tell you the story about how this all started. But Yeah. Before when we, you know, when we first started kids can inspire, there's a lot about just kids can inspire, and it was inspirational quotes and moments. But then when we took a break and we decided to kind of restart, it was like, no. We feel called to be bold in our faith in every video.

Real Andrews:

So and, like, tell us a little bit. Let's jump right in there, Heather, and you guys can just speak as you feel free. Like, how did you guys like, how did it all start?

Heather:

Yeah. I can tell. And then if you guys wanna jump in at all. But so Porter and I started we so September or couple months before that, 2024. Porter and I decided that we wanted to do the rice jar experiment where you take two jars

Real Andrews:

of rice,

Heather:

and you say mean things to one jar and kind things to another, and one jar molds and the other one doesn't. And so Porter and I were like, we're gonna, you know, do this rice jar experiment, and we're gonna document it every day. And so we started this Instagram called kids for kindness project. And we forgot to add extra water to the jar. So it was, like, day 14, and our jar still hadn't molded.

Heather:

And we're like, okay. We can only do so many no mold today videos. And so we asked Liam. Hey, Liam. Do you wanna do just like this is all about kindness.

Heather:

Just say a kindness message. So I just pointed the camera at Liam, and he talked all about how god is with you and for you and how you are an amazing person. And you just he was just a natural.

Liam:

You gotta believe

Porter:

Yeah. Because you are awesome.

Heather:

Yeah. Yeah. And, so he did that video, and I posted it, and my mom saw it, and she was like, you need to start a inspirational channel. Like, Liam and your boys are so amazing. So it was sort of by accident because it's like we had failed at this rice jar experiment, and, we're like, yeah, that's a actually, that's a great idea.

Heather:

So then I was thinking about names, and I was searching up names, and I was like, how is kids can inspire not taken? I couldn't believe that nobody had taken that handle. So I grabbed it on every platform and the website, and I was, like, immediately and I'm, like, we're starting this. So as we're still finishing our rice straw experiment, we started Kids Can Inspire, and Kids Can Inspire quickly started to take off, and the the other one didn't really go anywhere. And so then we started doing this, and we did the inspiration every day.

Heather:

And I don't know how far you want me to go in the story if

Real Andrews:

you want. That that that's you know what I love? I love about what you're sharing because, you know what this whole thing and I saw Finn you were talking about how your numbers grew and your account got shut down and and then now you're like over 80,000 followers. You know because as you know on social media I don't know if you're aware or not. But there's always these people hey if you wanna go viral hire me, I got the formula, I got the secret to success and blah, blah, blah.

Real Andrews:

Well, me personally, and I say that's a confirmation of what you just said, I don't believe that. Think like, God wants it to go viral, it's gonna go viral. And so you can give all the glory to God, right? Because if we were to hire somebody and this was to go viral, where are we gonna give that glory? So I think a lot of people, your story's a direct example of that.

Real Andrews:

So, Finn, I wanna ask you a question. Are you good, Finn? You ready, buddy? That. So what's the boldest thing, Finn, you said or done on camera that you weren't sure you should have said?

Porter:

I I think it was the one where I said nothing and just I think it was the one it was not on camera, but it was, like we recorded it and tried to make it a video. When I said nothing, was just

Heather:

multiplying myself. Oh, yeah. We did it. We have we have experimented a lot with figuring out where's the formula, what are we doing, what works. And so we did a lot.

Heather:

Ken is kind of the goofy. He's super goofy.

Real Andrews:

And so never got that.

Heather:

No. Yeah. And so we did I would've never known. Yeah. So he likes to dance.

Heather:

He likes to do so we were playing with some editing tricks where it was, like, five of Finn, and he's, like, circling through the frame. But some of those things we never end up posting.

Real Andrews:

Well, those some we I I'd like to some of those outtakes are the best things I can tell you that.

Heather:

Yeah. Yeah.

Real Andrews:

So, Porter Porter, I got a question for you, champion.

Porter:

Yeah.

Real Andrews:

So, Porter, before the restart, what did playing it safe look like for your family, and what changed?

Heather:

What did what? Playing it safe. So before we got really bold in our faith, what did it what were our videos like? Well, usually, they were just like, you got this. You can do this.

Porter:

Or, like Or, like, the dog experiment. Yep. Or, like, the dog experiment. We we didn't talk much about god before we changed our whole page. And when we changed the page, we we did lose a lot of followers, but that's not what we're looking for.

Porter:

We're usually just looking for to spread kindness and faith.

Justin:

I think supporters. Right? Like, when we the first videos were there was a sprinkling of, like, our Christian faith, but it wasn't, like, the resounding theme. And then we had a couple of videos where they're a little more faith focused, and, unfortunately, we got some feedback that wasn't very kind and that's where we kind of step back and like, well, that's pretty important and it's kind of a theme for our family. And we kind of stepped back in and said, that's really what we're about and that's who we are really no matter what feedback we get.

Justin:

And we've had a flood of positive positive, you know, as our as our channel kind of changed into something that was more themed and not afraid to have god at the forefront of it or at the center of it. So, Corey, you're right. Like, I think that's what all about being bold was is deciding that was important on what the message we were trying to deliver.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. And, you know, it's it's interesting champions that when we think about it, I've been seeing some videos lately and stuff like that. I'm not surprised your account got shut down. I know, Liam, you said you weren't surprised. The enemy doesn't want us to win.

Real Andrews:

You know what I mean? And it and it's interesting. Is it interesting? Christianity is the only religion really that gets a lot of hate. Did you notice that?

Heather:

Yeah.

Real Andrews:

It's like, and there's, like, other religions out there. You'd be like, well, you know Liam, I got a question for you, champion. So what would you say to a kid who feels god is nudging him to do something brave, but he's too afraid?

Liam:

So as a person who's experienced this before in I experienced it in elementary school, but I feel like if god was nudging like, telling me to do something and I was nervous to do it, I would do it anyways because god is god knows god has a plan, and he knows

Porter:

He knows more than us.

Real Andrews:

Oh, that's not what I'm

Liam:

gonna say.

Heather:

But, like,

Liam:

he knows, like Sit down home. He knows everything. He knows what's gonna happen. Hands. Like yeah.

Liam:

So, basically, what happened was there was this girl who was getting made fun of when I was in, like, first grade, and she because she didn't have, like, one of her hands. And they were, like, kids making fun of her. And so then I went over to her, and I said, like, if, like, kids are bullying you, just come to me and then I can tell them to bully me instead of you.

Real Andrews:

Wow. That's awesome. You know? I I was gonna ask you that because I grew up, you know, 63 but you know, I remember those days and and we don't forget those days, do we, champions? I mean, I was the only African American in a class of 1,200.

Real Andrews:

Wow. You could imagine I know a little bit about bullying. I know a little bit about, you know, and I can remember at 63, I can remember as clean as it was yesterday, some of the things kids used to say to me, some of the names they used to call me. So, you know, I'm very proud of you, champion, for stepping up and being a leader. That's that's called being a leader.

Real Andrews:

So I hope if kids are watching this, and that's, you know, I I I coached a lot of kids in my life, Liam and Porter and and Finn. And I'll ask the kids. I'll say, who wants to be popular? And of course, everybody would raise their hand. Why wouldn't you wanna be popular, right?

Real Andrews:

Nobody wants to be not liked. And then I'll ask that same group of kids. I'll say, well, who wants to be a leader? And they'll all raise their hand as well and I said, well, you don't get to be both. Because leaders aren't popular.

Real Andrews:

You know, leaders do things that that that that stand up. So, this is for mom and dad or the whole family, but more like mom and dad. What did obedience to be bolder cost you that people don't see financially, emotionally, in your marriage?

Liam:

I got some. Okay. There's two things. Being bolder on our faith has grown our channel a lot, but it's not all in positive ways. There are some people who watch our channel just to make fun of us.

Liam:

I'm not gonna give specific names,

Porter:

but, like

Liam:

I don't have any names right now. But there we've gotten so big that there are people at my school who know who I am because of the kids can inspire channel. And those are two things that, aren't, like, one of the there's only two bad things about being bolder in our faith, but I don't think that's gonna stop me because there's definitely way more than two good things about it. Yeah. I'm guessing over

Porter:

500. Yeah. I'm guessing over 50. Over 50,000?

Liam:

Something like that, Laura.

Heather:

Yeah? Do you

Real Andrews:

have a Go ahead.

Justin:

Oh, I I think the biggest challenge is, you know, I've I'm more of a private person and, like, as the kids were little and growing up to who they are today, like, I've always felt, a responsibility to be a protector and keep them safe. And and, you know, through doing this, you really they are putting themselves out there and and, like, to Liam's point, sometimes you get people that just kinda wanna jump on and and argue or or discredit what is in our videos, and I think, my comfort level is to pull them away from that and just protect them and keep them safe so they don't have to deal with that. But, you know, I've gotten I've come a long ways in understanding that they're they're doing something a lot bigger and, you know, I have to and and I see that. And so I don't want to just abandon it because like you said earlier, coach, like, you know, the the the enemy doesn't want this to succeed, so he's gonna stand in the way. So you can't take everything that's kinda scary or or feeling like a barrier as it's as it's some reason to stop.

Justin:

Yeah. Right?

Heather:

Yeah. I would say it's definitely I mean, it's cost us some privacy, of course. Right? Now you're now we're starting to get everybody's getting a little restless. You need to go You

Real Andrews:

can adjust you can adjust however you want. That's fine.

Heather:

Hey. Sit down, honey. I would say that it definitely has cost us some privacy. It's cost us some family time, you know, when we are, there are times when we're like hey, guys. Quiet.

Heather:

Here. Just sit up straight, please. When maybe the boys will we're always very respectful of their wishes because they'd be like, okay. We're not gonna, you know, we're gonna do this thing, but we're not gonna we're not gonna post it. But, you know, you're kind of a you end up needing to almost be a a slave to it a little bit, and we don't ever want to have to make it feel that way, especially since these guys are just kids.

Heather:

So we always give them the, like, hey. This is not, like, we are going to opt out. We are you know, or this is not to be recorded or this is not to be posted, or even to the point where, like, if they ever feel uncomfortable, even after something is posted, we will, say, at any point, can say, delete that. I don't want that. But we have all seen this journey of, like, god is pushing us through this, and he is leading the way.

Heather:

And so we just keep taking that next step because we're like, okay. Wow, god. We know you are in this. We see this. I mean, when we the way that it started, we didn't mean to start this page.

Heather:

God started this page. And so we're like, okay. I guess we're doing this page. And then as we were doing it, we just felt that heaviness of, you know, the world was so heavy at the moment. There was so much going on, especially, you know, we're in the Midwest, and there's a there was a lot of stuff in the Midwest that just felt really scary at that moment.

Heather:

And so we were like, we gotta we gotta pull back. And, so we all took a moment to kind of be like, okay. Are what are we supposed to do? And we all felt very called. Each one of us made our own decision, and God was like, you will continue.

Heather:

This is but, like, you will be bold. And we all individually came up with that on our own. We didn't have a family discussion. We were like, we are gonna take a break, and we took, like, a month off, and we just we're like, each of us are gonna come to our own conclusion. If one person wants to do it or if we're shutting down the whole page, and god was so clear with each and every one of us, and we're like, okay.

Heather:

I guess we're supposed to be really bold, but, you know, that that cost you like, that's scary. That's scary to think that, like, you're putting yourself out in that way because you know you'll get negative comments. You know and we also had a following of people that were like, okay. Not all of these people are Christians. In fact,

Liam:

some of them are

Heather:

very not Christians. Right. And so yeah. Don't say any names.

Porter:

No. Would know. Right.

Heather:

But we have people that we love very much that we talk to regularly, but they are not Christians, and they are not a fan of what we're doing. And so, you know, that kind of is which I manage the page. I manage the comments. I do not show them all of the comments. We've had people that have been very angry with us because they thought they were talking to one of the kids directly, and we're like, no.

Heather:

Our kids don't have social media. Like, we are called to do this, but we still are parents protecting our children. Like, this is god taking the lead, and we are obeying, but it's, you know, it's not always comfortable. It's scary. We get a lot of hate for, like, you're just using your children.

Heather:

You you know, like, how dare you put your kids on social media? We're like, god has told us to do this. God built this page. This is not you know?

Real Andrews:

So And and I I love that. I love that. And a couple things I wanna, like, thank you, Holy Spirit. I say Holy Spirit gave me a couple things that I wanna share with you, Liam, Porter, Finn and the family, and then I got a question for you, Porter and Finn. And and I'm I'm gonna go to Finn first because I feel I'm losing him.

Heather:

A couple things

Real Andrews:

couple things I just wanted to share with you guys with listening to what you just said that the holy spirit told me to give you right now. One is so as you guys so eloquently say, god called you. Okay? So our assignment your assignment is to plant seeds and to put the pebble in the shoe as you will. So don't don't feel like, you know, if there's people here that aren't Christians or are Christians or whatever, that's not our assignment to I just wanna give you guys take that off your plate, the grace.

Real Andrews:

Your assignment is just to do what you're doing because you're doing an amazing job. The Holy Spirit will convict people how he's gonna convict them or not, okay? So, don't feel like you gotta be like getting people to to like you or not like you or whatever. That that's that's that's not that's not your assignment champions and you know, one of the things listen, not only I'm big in the ministry, I'm a carnivore coach. I teach people on carnivore, me and my wife.

Real Andrews:

And people say the craziest stuff, dude. They just, I think some people just wanna say stuff to say stuff. It doesn't even make sense. So you really can't take it personal, you know, but I'll give you a couple tools, and I'll send you a book, Heather, or a link to it that I think you should read. Because if you're gonna do this kind of stuff, you gotta and I'll I'll preface it with this.

Real Andrews:

In the bible, right, Liam, Porter, Finn, Jesus was asked a 187 questions. I want you to catch what I'm saying. He was asked 187 questions. He only answered eight. He asked over 300.

Real Andrews:

So the lesson in that is, you know, when a lot of times when people and I do it all the time, they're gonna say some crazy stuff and I'll simply respond with, how did how did you come to that conclusion?

Porter:

Yeah.

Real Andrews:

And, you know, they don't have an answer for that because they're just trying to bully you and stuff like that, but just know that you guys are working with that. So, Porter, I got a question for you, champion. You

Porter:

ready? What?

Real Andrews:

I got a question for you, brother. You ready? So what do you think God is asking your family to do next that you haven't done yet?

Porter:

I think god is asking us to help the homeless again. Yeah.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. Wow. That's big, man. That's big. You know?

Real Andrews:

And I love that you said that point. I'll tell you why. I'm just being real with you. I used to think you know, when I thought of homeless, I don't think that way anymore but I'm just being real. I used to think homeless were drug addicts, bums, lazy people, you know, people that, you know, and then when my my mom and dad, you know, my dad was a very hardworking man.

Real Andrews:

He worked very hard. He saves a lot of money, bought mom and him a nice apartment to to grow old in, but he was a personal trainer. And, unfortunately, he got Parkinson's at 65. He wasn't able to train anymore after a while. So, eventually, they used up their savings.

Real Andrews:

They had to sell their apartment that they lived and they ended up dying in in two different old age homes if you will, a $50 cab ride away from each other And, you know, I remember when I was talking with my money manager at the time, I said, I ended up asking him the question. I said, like, because, you know, they can, which you'd probably don't understand, but your parents do. It's what's it called, Heather, Mike? You know, what you pay a day if you don't have a house to live in anymore, long term care or what you know what I'm trying to say. Okay.

Real Andrews:

But yeah. Yeah. But but it's about 5 to $600 a day.

Heather:

Yeah.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. And I said to my money manager, I said, so, what happens if you don't have the money? And he said, where do you think all these homeless people come from? There are people that didn't plan, they didn't think, and so not, you know, so I love what you're doing. That's a great cause champions because there's a lot of people out there that's just, they didn't make good plans and unfortunately, so, that's what you're bringing into.

Real Andrews:

Liam, I got a question. I'm Finn. Finn, I'm gonna and then I'm gonna come to Liam. Finn, so, you're doing a great job by the way, brother. So, you are kids.

Justin:

Yeah. You

Real Andrews:

you you are kids. Like, what do like? It's Saturday afternoon. You're senior. You're doing this podcast.

Real Andrews:

You're doing your videos. You're doing all this stuff. Like, why, man? Like, why? Like, you could be out there playing ball, doing, you know, all kind of crazy stuff.

Porter:

We believe in god, very good, and he's the best person in the world. Also, Jesus. Also, Jesus.

Real Andrews:

Wow. So is this something you got how long have you get is it like when did you become a Christian, Finn?

Porter:

Like, right when I was born, I think. Wow.

Liam:

I think.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. Awesome. Awesome. So it's a it's a it's a all family thing. Just been always, always.

Real Andrews:

I love that. I love that. Alright. Liam.

Liam:

Just come.

Real Andrews:

What's something? Because this whole theme of this is bold. What's something you've done that's been bold that scared you before you did it? Like, you were like, it's one thing to say, let's just be bold, but then you get called. You get nudged to do something, and you're like, okay.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. But not that god.

Liam:

I have. I don't really know anything about that, but I do think that I was nervous about when my mom told me about us maybe shutting down Kids Can Inspire, I did not wanna do that, like, before we were gonna be bold in our faith.

Heather:

Yeah. That was an interesting time because we had been doing it and our page quickly grew to about 5,000 followers on Instagram. And then we kinda stayed there and that's when we were feeling really heavy. And Liam was doing it and he liked it. It was okay, but Liam doesn't like to be told what to do.

Heather:

Liam likes to do something that comes from his heart. And he was kinda fell into this. You know, we were like, hey, Liam. Say this. And he did such an amazing job that we're like, oh my gosh.

Heather:

Do another one. Oh my gosh. And he he liked it, but he kind of it was kind of not his. And then and then what did you feel when we were like I was like, hey, Liam. I think we might shut down the page.

Heather:

I think I'm feeling called to shut it down.

Liam:

Oh, my stomach dropped.

Heather:

And that's it was like, that's when I realized right? What did you were like, that's when I realized that I really loved this. Like, that was the moment for you.

Liam:

That that was the moment when I realized that this is what I meant to do because this is what god sent me here for, I'm pretty sure. I think that god wanted me that he made me for this. He made me for this. He made because this is just spreading the gospel to so many people, and this is what and this is what everybody is here for. This is why god made humans to spread the gospel.

Liam:

To spread the gospel. I

Real Andrews:

I you know I love that you said it because there's there's in my opinion. What do you guys think of this? And then I gotta I I'm gonna give you a a lead question so you can think about it. So I'm gonna I'd like to hear from each of you. If you've got something, I'm gonna come back to this in in a second is, what's one, thing that's happened?

Real Andrews:

A kid came up to you, somebody came up to you and said, hey, I saw your video, and I wanna thank you because of that. My, I did this or I was thinking of doing this and I didn't do that. Like, what's some life changing things that that have happened to you but in terms of like Christians, okay? So, I'm very passionate about Christians like you are. So there's believers and there's followers.

Real Andrews:

Okay? Go ahead, Liam. Go ahead. We'll come back to my I

Liam:

I do I do have an example of that.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. Go for it.

Porter:

I was

Liam:

having a sleepover at my cousin's house. And Okay. Basically, we'll call my cousin Ben.

Real Andrews:

We'll call Ben. We're very

Heather:

we're very careful about safety. And I love it.

Porter:

We'll call the two

Liam:

other people people in the story. Lily. A and b.

Real Andrews:

A and b. They're a and b. Nick

Liam:

and Tom. Liam. Okay. Okay.

Real Andrews:

Liam. Okay.

Liam:

I'm not talking about myself, by the way. Okay. So I was at my cousin's house, and we were having a sleepover. And he was just, like, playing NHL '26, and he was on a call with his friends, Liam and

Justin:

Ben. That's the word.

Real Andrews:

Ben. No.

Liam:

Not Ben. No. Not Ben. Nick. Okay.

Liam:

Okay. Okay. Yeah. And they and then Bentley was just playing, and then his friends started talking about my channel. And then they were like, tell your mom to follow me back and stuff like that.

Liam:

And then they were like, dude, your channel is so awesome. Please follow me back and stuff like that. And they and they were like, dude, I

Heather:

watch your videos. You're super cool and stuff like that. We don't really get recognized yet. We're about, I think, a 110 followers across platforms, 110,000. And I would say only 40% of that is maybe in The United States.

Heather:

Mhmm. So we're not we're not big enough to get recognized. But I think that was a moment where it was kind of reassuring for Liam because his parents' friends are very faith filled, and they were very supportive, and they were very much like, hey. This is, like, kids his age being like, this is so cool. And I think for him, you know, he's not doing it for validation, but sometimes it feels good, you know, to have peers say, hey.

Heather:

Good job. And we hadn't really had that yet. And we go through and we're we're careful about negative comments. We don't share all of them, you know, like Yeah. Liam Liam is interested in of the negative comments too because he is really good at being like, that's okay.

Heather:

That's okay.

Real Andrews:

And I've seen I've seen some of his videos where he does that. He does a great job with that.

Heather:

Yeah. And he's I have a question. Yeah.

Real Andrews:

Yes.

Liam:

I feel like we should do one kid in the room at a time so he can ask all questions to that kid and the next kid and the next kid.

Justin:

Let's keep on like this for now. Okay?

Heather:

And then we can but we have had been flooded with amazing I really need to start, like, saving them because we had people that said, hey. I was gonna commit suicide, and I came across your page. And I decided that that was that I had a purpose. And we have a lot of, like especially in the beginning, there was a lot of people with special needs that were kind of on our page and just felt a sense of community and belonging. And they're like, hey.

Heather:

I have cerebral palsy, and I don't have a lot of friends, and I feel like I know you. And these kids have super high empathy for everyone. I mean, I don't know. God just filled them with empathy for every type of person. And so it's just been amazing that, like, the you know, a lot of people that interact with our page too is just the kids are so passionate about making them feel included and community.

Heather:

And we got flooded with letters of people being like, hey, I had childhood cancer or I had, you know, I came across this page and I just feel reinspired to do good in the world and that's amazing. You know, it's just such a good feeling to because you don't know who you're, who's on the other side of that screen and and what's happening but we have all these people that have started to be like, hey. I just need you to know what your page did for me. And so we definitely try to share those stories with the boys, make sure that they see those and

Real Andrews:

But they yeah. Because I think that's a good. And now I'll give I'll give you somebody gave me a gift a while ago. I'll give it to you guys. You use it.

Real Andrews:

The Holy Spirit will do. Because it's really, you're going this channel is gonna go big and it's gonna change a lot of lives. That's the most important. Something we can always do and you probably already do it already just like when people, man, that was awesome. That video was awesome.

Real Andrews:

All the glory to god. Always just whenever somebody gives you a compliment, just say all the glory to god. Yeah. You know, the best thing we can do if you guys maybe later read Matthew five, right? You know, what kind of posture do we have?

Real Andrews:

Because when you're in a position like this, you're only human champions and the the way the enemy can can defeat this and I'm just speaking over this channel is something. It's a three letter word. Can anybody you tell me what it is?

Heather:

Sense.

Real Andrews:

What's a three letter word that the enemy could try to take What? Away this

Liam:

Ego.

Real Andrews:

100%. And ego stands edge out God. So if we stay in a posture of Matthew five of always, you know, that because because the enemy's gonna try to, he don't like this. He don't like us talking together right now. So, you know, that's all good and you want, what I love what you said, Liam, because at the end of the day, this is something that I started recently is like, if you look at my my social media descriptions or whatever they're called.

Real Andrews:

You know, I I I give it to you this way. It kind of makes sense. So, I'm an Emmy award winning actor out here in Hollywood. All the glory to god but for years, for year, I could, man, I saved my acceptance speech. I could set it forward, backwards.

Real Andrews:

You know, and isn't it interesting champions like when people and Christians too? I was one of them, right? My acceptance speech went something like, I wanna thank this person and this person and this person and I wanna thank the producers and the production crew and this and this and this and this and last but not least.

Justin:

Yeah.

Real Andrews:

I wanna thank my lord and savior. Like, shouldn't that be first?

Liam:

Yep.

Porter:

We're gonna hush. You know

Real Andrews:

what I mean? You know what I'm saying? So it's like, we've always wanna, like and and there's, like, so many people. Like, there's believers and there's followers, champions, and you guys are followers. What you do do you know what are the difference between a believer and a follower is?

Real Andrews:

Anybody know? What? Do you know what the difference, Liam, between a believer and a follower is?

Liam:

Oh, yeah. Said it.

Real Andrews:

In your own words, I'm not I wanna make sure you understood what you said.

Liam:

Oh, I do I do I I do think so.

Real Andrews:

Okay.

Liam:

I feel like a believer is someone who just thinks god is real. But then a follower is someone who goes to church every Sunday, does what god is calling them to do, spreads the gospel.

Porter:

Mhmm. Yeah.

Liam:

And stuff like that. And then when he you ever get a gut feeling and god tells you to do something, you do it.

Real Andrews:

Amen. So good, champion. You know, basically, wrap up what you said there. It's there. So, there is a delayed obedience is disobedience.

Real Andrews:

So, you said, being obedient which is awesome. You know, and sharing the gospel. That's the number one thing that we do is share the gospel. That's it. At the end of the day, we're just vessels.

Real Andrews:

Isaiah six eight. So, I I love that. I love that. I'll give you a funny saying, champions. You'll like this one.

Real Andrews:

So, you all know what Burger King is, right?

Porter:

Yeah. Yeah.

Real Andrews:

So, believers are Christians who want to do it the Burger King way. They want to do it their way. Followers are champions who want to do it Yahweh. They don't want to do it the Burger King way. They want to do it

Liam:

You may have it your way.

Real Andrews:

Alright. Alright. So I would like to let me see. I got questions. So Porter's falling asleep, so let me get Porter.

Heather:

You know, we could tell if you want a crazy, bold god story.

Real Andrews:

Yep. I'd love it. Let's go.

Porter:

Porter. Porter. Yeah.

Heather:

Here. Put that down for a second and look at the camera. And let's tell and you tell me how much you wanna tell. But Porter had this is a way that we have been so blessed by this page. So in I had an injury.

Heather:

Yep. So in July, Porter went to camp. And this is an amazing Christian camp. Porter's got so we recently moved to a smaller town, and Porter quickly made a whole lot of friends. And these friends are all super faith filled friends, and they've been going to this camp for years.

Heather:

Can I keep telling you? Yeah. And so they invited Porter to this Christian camp. So amazing. He's been so excited.

Heather:

And he gets there Sunday night. Monday morning, they have woodshots. And Porter I get a call Monday morning at, like, 8AM that Porter is in an ambulance on the way to the hospital because they think he may have lost several fingers in wood shop.

Real Andrews:

Woah.

Heather:

This happened so July is, you know, not that far ago, long ago. And our page had recently exploded, and there was a lot of new followers to our page. Felt led to immediately post. We don't we're private about some things, but I immediately posted, please pray for Porter. We didn't even know he didn't even know if he he literally he cut through on a bandsaw.

Heather:

He cut through his finger past the knuckle, through the bone into the Oh, man. Finger and missed his tendon. Well so his finger was hanging, and they had to completely reattach it. I'm an hour and a half from there, from where the camp was. I immediately posted, and I'm like, please pray for Porter.

Heather:

Immediately, we get flooded with prayers of complete healing. And so we so we he gets there. Long story short, this is, you know, little over a month ago. Somehow, you have a you have a tendon on the bottom of your finger and a tendon on the top of your finger. He so let's see your finger.

Heather:

So he somehow and you can see the scar here. It's already completely healed. The surgeon, the children's surgeon, said she had never seen someone have an injury this severe, not only miss both tendons somehow. She said, I don't even know how that's possible, but it completely reattached within weeks, and he had full feeling and full function of his fingers again.

Real Andrews:

Wow. We

Heather:

absolutely believe those were the blessings of the prayers of healing that we got immediately when we posted that on our channel. Now, Porter, tell us what you said when this happened. Tell us the story of what happened and what you were yelling. Oh my gosh. So

Porter:

I was I I came out of the wood shop, and I, so I was using the band saw a little long, and I forgot to push the push a piece of wood with another piece of wood. And then it went through the first fifth through through the first finger, past the bone into the second finger. Yeah. This one's

Heather:

got a scar too.

Real Andrews:

And

Porter:

then I just went up to someone, and I said, hey. My fingers almost cut off. And then they're like, we're gonna have to bring you to the hospital.

Liam:

I don't think that's how

Heather:

it happened here. And what were you yelling when you were really scared?

Porter:

I ran and he ran to the to the nurse at the at the at the camp, and then someone called 911, and the ambulance was coming. And in the tractor, I load in the tractor. No.

Heather:

They they can take the tractor

Liam:

to get him to the Okay.

Porter:

Okay. In the tractor, load in. I was screaming, god has a plan. God has a plan.

Heather:

While his finger is dangling, while they're waiting for an ambulance and Porter's yelling, god has a plan. God has a plan. And so then when we went down to the children's hospital the first time, who did you you saw a homeless person. And so then we made a video about this. I can send it to you.

Liam:

Your finger to the homeless person.

Heather:

Then the porter couldn't stop thinking about this person. So he took all the money that he's made so far on social media, and he put together a care package for when he was going back because he told us that the reason this happened is that he wanted to he was going to get the opportunity to help a homeless person. So what did you what

Porter:

did you buy? I bought a tent. I bought okay. I bought a tent. I bought food.

Porter:

I

Real Andrews:

bought I

Porter:

bought some pillows, I bought some blankets. I bought I bought a oh, what's it? What's

Liam:

A new finger?

Heather:

You bought a duffle bag? Yeah. So we filled this duffle bag with I mean, it's just amazing. Mhmm. And then we what did we do?

Heather:

We delivered it to this this girl that was homeless, and she was, like, 15. She was maybe 15.

Real Andrews:

Wow.

Heather:

And she didn't have a home, and we found her. And Porter said, I think this is why this happened to me.

Real Andrews:

I love that. That's come out. God positions us to be in position to be in position, Porter. That's like Esther four fourteen for a time such as this. So questions, okay, guys?

Real Andrews:

We're, I won't, I, I know you guys, you've been amazing. Got you on to forty five minutes. I got a couple questions and we'll bring it home. So, some of them boys, what what's something, this is for you, any of the boys? What's something that you've watched your mom or dad do that made you think, you know, they're not scared of anything anymore?

Porter:

Go ahead. Well wait. Let's put our answer first. Oh, okay. No.

Porter:

Go ahead. Go ahead. So you got it. You did it, sir?

Heather:

Cool. Do you wanna ask

Liam:

the question one more time?

Real Andrews:

What's one of the things that you have watched mom or dad do that makes you think that they're not scared anymore? You can go on one thing.

Porter:

Well, when my mom had her dad die, she was crying a lot. And and she she she talked to him, and he talked to him about Jesus and stuff like that. And that just made me think, wow. That you I bet you you can be healed by that. Yeah.

Porter:

And I bet you he is in heaven somewhere. They're being healed. And I just I just remember that moment for a long, long time. Yeah. Wow.

Liam:

Yeah. Same with me. When my mom lost her dad and she it took her a while to recover, but when she did, she was herself again. There's she's she was like it was like

Porter:

talk about it. It just makes me want

Liam:

It's okay,

Porter:

Finny. Okay.

Real Andrews:

Alright. We won't talk about it. I get this. So, like like, let's talk, like, when you watch this, a lot of people, I'm sure you get this question. Like, what do you do, like, as a normal family?

Real Andrews:

Like, do you what do you guys do for fun as a normal family?

Porter:

We we go

Liam:

out to eat sometimes?

Porter:

We usually oh, sorry.

Liam:

We go to church a lot. We hang out with our cousins who are big faith filled people.

Porter:

Mhmm. And

Heather:

they're in sports.

Justin:

Yeah.

Heather:

Hockey, hockey, football.

Real Andrews:

Wow. What what position do play in football, Porter?

Porter:

What?

Real Andrews:

What position do you play in football?

Porter:

Oh, I'm gonna be a center.

Real Andrews:

Wow. The center's like the most important. Nothing happens if the center don't get the ball to the quarterback.

Liam:

That's right.

Real Andrews:

And what what position do you play, Liam, in hockey? Goalie. Really? Wow. What what about you, Finn?

Porter:

Undecided. Undecided?

Real Andrews:

You know, Liam, I

Liam:

don't know

Real Andrews:

if you I don't know if you've seen this, but back in my day, so I I go, like I said, I'm 63. I go back to, like, Gump Worsley. I'm thinking of some the the goalies, they didn't wear a mask.

Heather:

Oh. Oh, yeah. I remember when the goalie used

Liam:

to wear catcher masks from baseball.

Real Andrews:

No. No. No. I'm going back to, like, when they didn't even wear that. Like, can you imagine standing in front of a two pound puck with no nothing on your face?

Heather:

They have no teeth.

Real Andrews:

Fuck. Yeah. They they they had no no teeth at all. Alright. So

Justin:

This is to meet at Christian hockey camp. Who's the goalie that Chico Rush.

Heather:

Well, he was trained by Chico Rush during

Justin:

Hall of Fame goalie.

Heather:

Yeah. Super cool.

Real Andrews:

So, Mike, this is question specifically for you. So years from now, what's the one story from this boulder season that you're going through that that you want your grandkids to hear first?

Heather:

Just Justin?

Real Andrews:

Yeah. I'll start with Mike, but anybody can answer.

Heather:

You guys Justin. Yeah.

Real Andrews:

Did I say did I say I saw Justin. My apologies. Thank you.

Justin:

Give me that question one more time. My apologies.

Real Andrews:

What's the one thing from this season you're going through that you don't you want your grandkids to hear first? Like, you know, that you want them to know about what you're going through and what you're doing. Because as the father of this, you know, of of your family, you know, at the end of the day, this all comes back on you. Right?

Justin:

Yeah. Well, I mean, I don't think there's any better, like, legacy that you could leave than, a family that's got a strong faith background and that they are doing such powerful things to spread the word of god. And, I mean, at the end of the day, I love watching these kids play hockey and play football, but if I'm talking to my grandkids and they, have a strong faith foundation because these boys raised their children to have the, that same, foundation of God, then, I mean, that's bigger than anything else. So I guess that would probably be what I would say.

Real Andrews:

I I love that, you know, and my dad always used to say to me, does he say, he would say, he say, how do we do things, son? And I'd say, with excellence, it's a game me and my dad used to play excellence and he say, why do we do that? And I'd say, because it has our signature on it And he goes, why why is that important? And he goes, and then I would say, well, is how do you wanna be remembered? What do you want on your tombstone?

Real Andrews:

What do you want people to say about you when you're gone? What kind of legacy do you wanna leave? More importantly, what kind of conversations do you wanna have with god when it's all said and done and when I look at this family here on screens, man, I talk about, you talk about legacy. It just reminds me as a kid, I lived with a foster family for four years of my life and so I had three brothers. They're the best years of my life.

Real Andrews:

I'm an only child. And we played together. I see the love between you and your brothers. We had fun together. We had each other's back.

Real Andrews:

We supported each other. You just don't see that so much anymore in kids. You know, even in my own kids, full time. I'm like, why are you guys like fighting so much? Why are guys so mean to each other?

Real Andrews:

Like, you should love each other. You should have each other's back, you know, and and that that starts at the top, Justin and and and the other series. It's just I I love to see that. So, let me ask you this. If god asked you to challenge you as a family, does anybody can answer this to, like, let's step it up.

Real Andrews:

You need to be even bolder again. What what would your answer be? Would it be yes or, like, like

Heather:

Oh, yes. Absolutely. Yeah. And I think he already is challenging us that with I mean, asking for money on social media for fundraising efforts is, a whole set of something new because people definitely will consume your content. But when you ask them to participate, now that's a whole another level.

Heather:

And, we are 1000% being called to now help others. And we've been

Porter:

talking about how

Heather:

this page, wanna use this audience to do crazy good. And so, like and maybe if we can lead into what the boys are doing this fall

Real Andrews:

I'd love it. Let's talk

Porter:

to them.

Heather:

So and let me know if anybody wants to talk about what we're doing, but I would do marketing for an amazing organization called Nourish International. And they feed over 10,000 children, feed and care for over 10,000 children every day. They recently changed their name from Orphan Network to Nourish. And, so me working for this organization has I've always been very passionate about children in need. And these guys is just ingrained in them, and maybe it's because it's something that I do and I care so much about.

Heather:

And I'm very open and talk about stuff a lot when I care a lot about something, but these guys have high empathy for anyone in need. Even to the point where when Liam is, you know, got his iPad at six years old and he sees someone on the street, he's like, give them my iPad. What can I you know, I'm like, you're not gonna get know, he's just they've just always been that way? And so last year, with an audience of about 5,000 people, we raised $3,000, which is 3,000 meals for children in need. Wow.

Heather:

Here, with over a 100,000 people right now, we're growing one to 3,000 people every day right now. And and if that keeps up, we have a much bigger audience to do crazy good. And so, Nourish International has a funding gap of about $300,000. And so the boys are gonna do a fundraiser and they're just gonna see how many meals they can raise.

Porter:

Do you guys

Real Andrews:

I love that. I love that. And I'll tell you, champions, I see much more than that. I mean, you know, one person I when I, I did the Ironman, my brother was dying of cancer at the time, my my stepbrother. And I said, you know, let's turn this into a positive.

Real Andrews:

He said, you know, he said, let's do something for the kids because, you know, if you've ever known anybody with cancer, there's a lot of kids in the hospitals. The parents just drop them off because they can't deal with it. This kid's gonna live another month or two months and they just can't even deal with this. So there's a lot of kids in in the hospital that nobody's coming to visit them. I didn't know this.

Real Andrews:

My brother told me this. And he said, I'd like to raise money for them. And I said, let's do it. And we partnered with, Camp Ronald McDonald's. And I just started putting it out there like you guys are.

Real Andrews:

And one company was a friend of my dad. So, you never know who's watching. Said, hey, we'll write you a check for a $100,000. Wow. ZT.

Real Andrews:

Oh, yeah. So. Oh. So they're out there and the people will find this. So with that said, guys, I I want to bring it home with this and, you know, mom, I would like to hear from each and every one of you on this question and, you know, maybe we'll let Liam answer last.

Real Andrews:

Let's let Liam answer last. I don't know why I said that. But anyways, so anybody watching this podcast if they were to take one thing away from it, what do you, what would that be? What was one thing you'd want them to take away from this podcast? I'd love for each of you to answer that.

Porter:

Who's he asking?

Heather:

Each one of them. So anybody has an answer. What's one thing you would want someone watching this to take away from this?

Justin:

You were supposed to go

Real Andrews:

He can go whenever. He can go in there. Well And you gotta go when you gotta go. That's fine.

Heather:

You can go, Liam, if you have something.

Liam:

Probably that our purpose on kids can inspire isn't for followers, isn't for making money, isn't for just quotes in general. It's to bring people to Jesus and the gospel.

Real Andrews:

Oh. Wow.

Liam:

Because because we aren't the ones who made this account on Instagram and Facebook and all the other platforms. It wasn't dad. It wasn't Finn, obviously. It wasn't me. It wasn't Porter.

Liam:

And surprisingly, it wasn't mom. It was actually Jesus. He's the one who led us to do this. He's the so he's the one who led us to do this, who created us to do this, who made our purpose to do this. He's the one who created it in the first place.

Real Andrews:

Yeah. Wonderful. Wow. Okay. Next?

Real Andrews:

That was awesome, champion.

Heather:

That was so good, Liam. I I'll jump in. I'll let the boys go, but two things. I would say we're just an ordinary family. There's nothing special about us.

Heather:

We just decided to be bold in our faith.

Liam:

There's nothing special

Heather:

about this. I mean, these boys are very special. They're very but they're really

Porter:

I don't know about that one.

Heather:

But we're not I mean, we're we're just an or we're an ordinary family. We don't know any more about the bible than anyone else. There's a lot of people that ask us, hey. Can you give us advice on on the you know, we don't we're not pastors. We're not we just decide I mean, we just felt called to be bold, and we listened.

Heather:

There's nothing you know? Like so I think that that's that's one thing that is important for us to inspire other people is if you don't feel like you're extraordinary, you can still do big things. You can be a kid and inspire. You can you know, there's and it Kids can inspire. Yeah.

Heather:

And the other thing would be being bold in our faith in the next step, which is trying to fee you know, give to others, which is leading into how many children we can feed and just inviting people if they feel called to help these boys help other kids, you know, to We're down to three.

Real Andrews:

You're good.

Heather:

Down to three. What? Oh, kids.

Liam:

Oh, just kidding. One kid, two adults.

Heather:

But I think, you know, these boys are so proud to be a vessel of being able to help other children through Nourish, and that we would just wanna invite other people to exercise their faith through what these boys are doing.

Real Andrews:

Love it.

Porter:

And poor

Heather:

would you want one person to take away from this today? I don't want his I want people to

Porter:

know that we aren't just we aren't just a normal people. We we are we are just normal people. Yeah. Mhmm. We just we really want to be bold.

Porter:

We do wanna be bold, and someday might some of us might become a pastor. Some of us become a fisher, pro hunter, pro fisherman. Some people might be a builder. Some people might be I don't know. But Jesus is leading us to whatever we have in our life.

Porter:

That's

Real Andrews:

Profisherman. Okay. That's you know, Porter, that's I love I love what you said, what you're basically saying there, brother, is it's in, it's Corinthians when it talks about the gifts. You're basically just saying that we all have gifts and we all have different callings and special gifts and I love that. That was well said.

Real Andrews:

Very well said. Well said. Finn, you got anything to say back there?

Heather:

What do you want people to take away?

Liam:

I think he's dead.

Real Andrews:

Is he dead? Okay. I think Phil wants us to know that he made it a whole hour. That's pretty impressive. Still here.

Real Andrews:

That that's pretty impressive. Well, dad, you you get to land the plane. You get to bring it home, dad.

Justin:

Well, I don't know if it was your intention or not, but obvious it seemed like being bold was the theme, you know, in the in our conversation today. And I guess if my takeaway would be that being bold can look a lot of different ways and it can be something very small, but something that's just a little bit out of your comfort zone. It doesn't have to be another channel or it doesn't have to be writing a $100,000 check, but it can be something as simple as just going and giving to somebody or inviting somebody to church or sharing your faith and that you have these beliefs with somebody that maybe you're a little nervous might not receive it well. So, you know, being bold is I really like the word, but it can look a lot of different ways. Right?

Justin:

And it can be something that's a very small step. So that'd be my thought.

Real Andrews:

I I I love that, and I'm just gonna round it up with this. You you inspired me to say this, Justin, And and all of you inspired me to say this. I believe one of the things that I believe champions and I think it's important for you to catch this with what you're doing. And with what your dad just said. I believe because we've all had those times, right?

Real Andrews:

Where we're rushing to the gas station, we're rushing to the hockey game, the football game, whatever. And you get that nudge, as you said so eloquently, Liam said, hey, stop or feed that homeless person like you did quarter. But sometimes, right? We've all done it. I'm I'm late for the game.

Real Andrews:

I don't have time. Or I gotta do this and I gotta do that and we don't do it. I believe champions with all my heart that we're all gonna get to go home because we've made that decision. We declared that, you know, with our with our mouth and believes in our heart. And god's gonna sit us down.

Real Andrews:

He's gonna say, job well done. But let me show you this rail. Let me show you coach. You remember that time at the gas station? I know you heard me because you hesitated for a second, but you kept going.

Real Andrews:

Remember that time? All I wanted you to do is just smile at that guy. He just needed to get a smile that day. But let me show you what his life looks like because you didn't slow down and be obedient. And let me show you what it could've looked like.

Real Andrews:

So we're not going to be perfect. But like your dad said, it doesn't have to be a big thing if you're watching this podcast. It can be just smiling at somebody. It can just be taking that time to to slow down and and ask somebody a question or just listen to them. You know, in the in the in the hard seasons, in the cold seasons, Loading your car up with blankets, shoes that you're not gonna use.

Real Andrews:

So, you just give em and it's not about like I love what you're saying guys. It's not about champions that are watching this. I I always say, go do a random act of kindness today and don't get caught. What does that mean? It means don't go to Starbucks and pay for the person in front of us and then get on social media.

Real Andrews:

But hey, guess what? I just did. That's not a random act of kindness. And and I love what you guys are doing. We'll put the link in the podcast champions for their helping them to feed these these kids.

Real Andrews:

Let's make a difference, guys. Let's support these families, guys. And make sure guys, if you're watching this, please like, comment, or share. We appreciate you and remember, you're important, you matter, And there's nothing that you're not able to do. All the glory to god.

Real Andrews:

So have an awesome day. Take care. God bless.

Heather:

Thank you so much. Thank you.

Real Andrews:
